Yummy!!! What a delicious word! Talking about food is cool! Do you like broccoli? And broccoli ice cream? Yuck! 

Students told their friends what they like and what they don’t like eating after learning new vocabulary about food. Then, they watched the video Green Eggs and Ham and talked about tasting the food before saying you like it or not.

They also prepared a typical American snack: peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and gave their opinion about it. 

                    “It looks like paçoquinha.”                   

“It´s a bit salty.” 

“I don’t like jelly” 

“Jelly is delicious!” 

Some students didn’t want to eat it and their friends said: “if you don’t try, you can’t say if it’s delicious or not”.

Another important moment was when they talked about washing the hands before eating and good manners at the table. It’s very polite to say thank you and please.

Finally, they talked about healthy and not healthy, and had this in mind when listed the items to be part of their special snack time...

Hummmm!!! Que bimestre delicioso! Falar sobre comida é bem bacana! Você gosta de brócolis? E de sorvete de brócolis? Urgh!  Os alunos contaram aos seus amigos o que eles gostam e não gostam de comer após aprender novas palavras sobre comida. Depois, assistiram a um vídeo chamado Green Eggs and Ham e conversaram sobre experimentar a comida antes de dizer se gosta ou não.

Também prepararam um lanche típico dos americanos: peanut butter and jelly sandwich e os alunos expressaram sua opinião: “parece paçoquinha”, “é um pouco salgado”, “eu não gosto de geleia”, “geleia é uma delícia!”. Alguns alunos não queriam comer e seus amigos disseram: “se você não experimentar, não poderá dizer se é gostoso ou não!”

Outro momento importante foi quando falamos sobre lavar as mãos antes de comer e boas maneiras à mesa. Devemos ser educados e falar thank you  e please.

Finalmente, discutiram sobre comidas saudáveis e não saudáveis e pensaram sobre isso ao fazer a lista de comidas para o lanche coletivo...
